Out with the old, in with the new.
January is a great time to clean closets, get rid of items that don’t fit, shoes that are no longer comfortable, accessories just no longer “your style.”
Ok, closet cleaned out. Now what? That mound of clothes, shoes, and accessories are just staring you in the face. There’s gotta be some money to be made in that pile. And who wouldn’t like some extra cash after all that holiday spending? But a yard sale just isn’t your style. Why not consign these items? Oh, wait – consigning items is a lot of work, and who has the time for that? Finding a consignment shop, getting your stuff there during business hours. Ugh, I’m getting tired just thinking about all that!
It doesn’t have to be that complicated if you use Poshmark. Poshmark makes it easy to resell your gently used fashion items – and you don’t even have to leave your house!
Poshmark is a fun and easy way to resell and buy women’s fashion items. With the free iPhone app, Poshmark brings together sellers looking to clean out their closet and buyers looking for a fashion deal. It’s a veritable fashion soiree! Check out somebody else’s closet, show off what you’re selling from yours. Who knows what fashion goodie you might just score at a steal of a deal, or how much you might sell that Dooney & Burke handbag for.
Here’s a snapshot of what you can do with the Poshmark app:
- Shop in someone else’s closet.
- Sell items from your own closet.
- Attend shopping parties without ever leaving home.
- Connect with other like minded fashionistas in the Poshmark community.
So go on. Shop their closets. Create your own closet and sell those “I loved you once, but need to move on” items. Score a fashion deal, and score some cash to pay for that deal!
Ready to get started with Poshmark? First, download the Poshmark App. Then, create an account. That’s it. You are good to shop – and sell – and party – and connect with other like-minded fashionistas. You will need an iPhone to use Poshmark.
No iPhone? Poshmark is hard at work creating a shoppable website and an Android app.
What Can You Buy & Sell at Poshmark?
All kinds of women’s fashions and accessories, shoes, sandals and boots as well. New items and gently used items, boutique items and brand name items too.
Whatever the item, rest assured it’s the real deal and not a replica or fake. That’s a no-no here. If you do get something that isn’t the real deal though, Poshmark’s got you covered with their BuySafe guarantee.
Buy in Confidence with BuySafe
Buying from an online reseller is fraught with questions and concerns:
- Is it in the condition the seller says it is?
- Is it a knock-off?
- Is it a rip-off?
- Will the seller ship my stuff after she gets the payment?
Poshmark eases those concerns with it’s BuySafe guarantee. How? By holding onto the seller’s payment until after you’ve received your order. Once you confirm with Poshmark that you are satisfied with your purchase, Pohsmark releases payment to the seller.
Poshmark stands behind every purchase made with them. So yes, you can shop with confidence here.
Reselling with Poshmark
You’re in the driver’s seat when reselling with Poshmark. You set the prices, you choose what you will sell “it” for. Just stick to a few simple Poshmark reselling guidelines and you will be earning money off your own closet in no time.
Ready to resell with Poshmark? It’s as easy as Sort – Post – Sell. Though that sort part may be a bit harder – I don’t know what’s in your closet! Once you’ve decided what to sell, simply open your Poshmark app, create a list of the items you are selling, take photos and post the items into your Poshmark closet, then sit back. Poshmark does the rest of the work for you. Here’s what they do:
- They handle all the transaction fees, including credit card fees.
- They provide you with a pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label.
- They provide the customer service.
What’s Poshmark’s cut in all this? They earn a 20% commission on your sales. Not bad. Not bad at all! Many consignment stores will take 30% to 50% as their cut. At Poshmark, 20% is all they take – no nickel and diming you with additional fees, credit card fees, shipping fees or fees to withdraw your hard earned cash. You can post as many items as you want, and you don’t have to pay for photos nor for uploading items to the app. Sweet fashion, you gotta love that!
Ok, one more step – you will have to pack up that sold item and drop it off at your local U.S. Post Office.
Once the item arrives at it’s destination and the customer is satisfied, Poshmark deposits your sales dollars into your account. You “cash out” when you are ready to. Or perhaps treat yourself with a little something from someone else’s closet!
